Music has the power to change lives, and every young girl deserves the opportunity to discover what she’s capable of.”

— Troy Sawyer, Founder and Artistic Director of Girls Play Trumpets Too

NEW ORLEANS, LA, UNITED STATES, October 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — JAMNOLA, New Orleans’ award-winning immersive cultural experience on Frenchmen Street, is adding a creative, community-driven evening to the lineup of things to do in New Orleans with She JAMS, celebrating female creativity and the next generation of New Orleans musicians.
Taking place Tuesday, October 20, from 5–8 p.m., the event will benefit Girls Play Trumpets Too, a local nonprofit empowering girls ages 8–19 through music, mentorship, leadership, performance, and cultural exchange.

At the heart of the evening will be a live performance by the talented young musicians of Girls Play Trumpets Too, giving attendees an opportunity to experience the next generation of New Orleans musical talent. Joining them will be acclaimed vocalist and JAMNOLA Music Ambassador, Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, who will perform two songs, including a solo performance and a special collaboration with Girls Play Trumpets Too.

The evening will also feature a performance by beloved New Orleans musician Rockin’ Dopsie Jr., along with a special appearance by Big Chief Victor Harris, a revered figure in New Orleans’ Black Masking cultural tradition.

Adding to the evening’s creative energy, Jane Tardo and Benjamin Harlow will bring their imaginative Haunted Hearse Phone Rollercoaster experience to JAMNOLA, while local artist Joel Scilley will create artwork live. Guests will also have the chance to meet JAMNOLA artists as they showcase their work and share their creative processes throughout the immersive space. DJ Lady B will provide the soundtrack for the celebration, while complimentary bites and sips round out the evening.

“JAMNOLA exists because of the incredible artists, musicians, and culture that make New Orleans unlike anywhere else in the world,” said Jonny Liss, Founder of JAMNOLA. “With She JAMS, we’re celebrating that creativity while investing in its future. Giving these talented young women a stage to shine on, and supporting an organization that’s helping them find their voices, is exactly the kind of community connection we want JAMNOLA to inspire.”

100% of net proceeds from She JAMS will be donated to Girls Play Trumpets Too, helping the organization continue creating opportunities for young girls to build confidence, develop their talents, and find their voices both onstage and beyond.

“Music has the power to change lives, and every young girl deserves the opportunity to discover what she’s capable of,” said Troy Sawyer, Founder and Artistic Director of Girls Play Trumpets Too. “We’re not just teaching girls to play the trumpet. We’re helping them build confidence, become leaders, and break barriers in an industry where women have historically been underrepresented. Partnering with JAMNOLA gives our girls another opportunity to be seen, heard, and celebrated in the city that inspires them.”

For visitors seeking an immersive art experience in New Orleans, JAMNOLA features vibrant, interactive installations created in collaboration with more than 100 local artists—providing a fitting backdrop for an evening where art, music, and community come together for a meaningful cause.

Tickets are $20, with 100% of net proceeds benefiting Girls Play Trumpets Too.
