Nearly 2,000 Members from 46 States Gather in Kaukauna as More Than 19,000 Spectators Attend the Wisconsin Fireworks Festival
KAUKAUNA, Wis. (August 17, 2026) — The Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) has concluded a successful 2026 Convention and Wisconsin Fireworks Festival in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, bringing together nearly 2,000 PGI members representing 46 states and international visitors for a week of pyrotechnic education, safety training, competitions, fellowship, and world-class fireworks displays.

Hosted at Wisconsin International Raceway (WIR), the convention transformed the Fox Valley into the center of the pyrotechnic world as hobbyists, professional display operators, manufacturers, suppliers, and enthusiasts gathered for one of the largest fireworks events in North America.

In addition to convention attendance, the Wisconsin Fireworks Festival welcomed more than 19,000 public spectators across its three public show nights, including the Grand Opening Night, Competition Night, and the Grand Public Display Finale.

More Than Fireworks
While PGI is widely known for its spectacular public displays, the organization’s mission extends far beyond entertainment. The annual convention serves as one of the premier educational and safety events in the fireworks industry, providing training and professional development opportunities for display operators, pyrotechnicians, and fire service professionals. Throughout the week, attendees participated in seminars, demonstrations, certifications, and hands-on learning opportunities focused on fireworks safety, display operations, regulatory compliance, and best practices.

The convention also welcomed Fire Marshals and public safety officials who attended training and educational programs designed to strengthen partnerships between regulators and the fireworks industry while promoting safe and responsible pyrotechnic operations.
Founded in 1969, PGI remains committed to its mission of advancing the safe, legal, and artistic use of fireworks through education, training, and public outreach.

Giving Back to the Community
PGI members demonstrated their commitment to community service throughout the week. Convention attendees participated in a community blood drive that attracted more than 60 donors, helping support regional healthcare needs and potentially impacting hundreds of lives. Members and guests also contributed to a food drive benefiting local charitable organizations, continuing a longstanding PGI tradition of supporting the communities that host the annual convention. “Every year, our members strive to leave a positive impact on the communities that welcome us,” said PGI leadership. “Whether through charitable activities, safety education, professional training, or the economic impact generated by thousands of visitors, we are proud to partner with our host communities.”

Thank You to the Fox Valley Community
PGI extends its sincere gratitude to Wisconsin International Raceway, local government officials, law enforcement, fire departments, emergency personnel, public works teams, sponsors, area businesses, volunteers, and the residents of Kaukauna and the greater Fox Valley region for their hospitality and support throughout the event.

The organization also recognizes the hundreds of PGI volunteers whose dedication and countless hours of planning helped make the 2026 Convention and Wisconsin Fireworks Festival a success.
