Cameroonian entrepreneur receives $1,000 award after music-focused project earns 1,200 community votes
ADDIS ABABA, ET / ACCESS Newswire / August 24, 2026 / JAPAP Technologies PLC, developer of the JAPAP Messenger mobile application, announced that Cameroonian entrepreneur Cédric Tagne Tuekam has been named the winner of the platform’s 64th crowdfunding cycle.

Tagne Tuekam received a $1,000 award after his project, “Musical Therapy 100% Kmer,” received 1,200 votes from registered users during the competition period.
According to JAPAP Technologies, the crowdfunding program is designed to provide financial awards to entrepreneurs and project creators based on community voting rather than financial contributions from supporters.
Cameroonian Music Project Selected
“Musical Therapy 100% Kmer” is a project developed around the use of Cameroonian music in activities intended to support emotional well-being and community engagement.
The project incorporates elements of traditional and contemporary Cameroonian musical culture, including locally recognized rhythms and styles. According to Tagne Tuekam’s project description, the initiative is intended to explore ways music and cultural expression can be incorporated into structured community programs.
The project received the highest number of votes during JAPAP Messenger’s 64th competition cycle, according to the company.
The $1,000 award is intended to provide early-stage funding that can be used toward developing the project, including equipment, recording activities, workshops or other initial implementation expenses.
Community Voting Determines Award Recipients
JAPAP’s crowdfunding program differs from conventional donation-based crowdfunding platforms because users vote for participating projects without making financial contributions.
Project creators register an initiative through JAPAP Messenger and invite members of their communities and professional networks to support the project through votes. Voting is available to registered JAPAP Messenger users and does not require a financial contribution.
At the conclusion of each cycle, the project receiving the highest eligible vote total is selected for the corresponding award, according to JAPAP Technologies.
Tagne Tuekam received 1,200 votes during Cycle 64.
“The program gives project creators an opportunity to present their ideas and demonstrate community interest around them,” a JAPAP Technologies spokesperson said. “Cédric’s project generated the highest level of voting participation during this cycle, earning him the Cycle 64 award.”
Program Targets Early-Stage Projects
JAPAP Technologies said the crowdfunding feature was developed for entrepreneurs, students, small-business owners, associations and other project creators seeking early-stage support.
Rather than requiring participants to raise money directly from their supporters, the program uses community participation to determine which project receives an award.
The company said another crowdfunding cycle has opened following the conclusion of Cycle 64. Award amounts for future cycles may vary based on the structure and participation level established for each competition.
JAPAP Technologies said future award levels could include $5,000, $10,000 or other amounts depending on the applicable competition cycle.
Part of the JAPAP Messenger Platform
The crowdfunding program operates within JAPAP Messenger, a multi-service mobile application developed by JAPAP Technologies PLC.
The platform combines communication and digital services including messaging, social networking, marketplace features, digital payment tools, employment listings, artificial intelligence-based tools and community project programs.
JAPAP Technologies said the crowdfunding component is intended to provide project creators with another way to present their initiatives to an online community while providing users with an opportunity to participate in project selection.
The company continues to develop JAPAP Messenger and expand the range of services available through the platform.
