The award highlights Avetta’s continued investment in raising the standard for supply chain safety by bringing together AI-powered technology, human expertise and industry collaboration to help organizations anticipate risk, strengthen performance and build greater readiness across complex supply chains.

For more than 16 years, the prestigious OH&S New Product of the Year Awards have showcased outstanding product development achievements in the health and safety field that are particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve workplace safety.

OH&S recognized the CMI for addressing a longstanding challenge: organizations can measure whether safety policies and management systems exist, but often have limited visibility into the cultural conditions that determine how effectively those systems are embraced and practiced. Developed in collaboration with the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), the CMI is the first organizational culture maturity assessment tool mapped to ANSI/ASSP Z10-2019 and ISO 45001-2018. It transforms culture from an abstract concept into a measurable, standards-based leading indicator that businesses can benchmark, improve and scale across their supply chains.

The CMI complements the Avetta Safety Maturity Index by connecting safety management systems with the cultural factors that influence how they perform in practice. Through a concise assessment, suppliers and contractors evaluate management commitment, employee empowerment, process and trust across six dimensions of safety maturity. The resulting insights help identify strengths, uncover gaps and prioritize improvement, giving CMI adopters a path to strengthen their organizational culture while helping their clients build stronger supply chains.

The CMI was also the first commercial application developed through ASSP’s Standards-Based User Groups (SBUGs) framework, which translates consensus safety standards into measurable, technology-enabled practices. The SBUGs are addressing fall protection, lockout/tagout and AI in safety to reduce serious injuries and fatalities.
