Perth, Australia – Sept 16, 2026 – As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the music industry, a new music platform is taking a different approach: building around the people who actually make music.
Voam is a new human-only music marketplace created to help musicians earn from their work, discover sounds from other creators and directly support the artists behind the music.
Its goal is simple: help create more human artists, not more robots.
Available as an iPhone app and website, Voam allows artists to buy and sell vocals, beats, samples and sample packs. Its TikTok-style Discover experience lets users swipe through sounds, preview music for free, save what they like, follow creators and find something they can turn into their next song.
Rather than building a platform around generating endless music from a machine, Voam is built around artists supporting artists. When someone purchases something on Voam, the money goes towards supporting the real musician who created it.
Buyers receive a royalty-free commercial licence allowing them to use their purchase to create and commercially release new music, subject to the applicable licence terms. Contracts are generated automatically as part of the purchasing process, helping make licensing straightforward and giving both buyers and sellers a clear record of the terms agreed to.
There is no subscription required to browse the marketplace and purchase music. Instead, musicians can find something they genuinely like, buy it directly from its creator and use it to make something new.
One artist helping another artist.
Giving unreleased music another life
For creators, signing up and submitting products to Voam is completely free. Artists retain ownership of their work and receive 85% of every standard sale.
Voam also wants to solve another problem familiar to almost every musician: the enormous amount of music that never gets released.
Artists can spend hours, days or even weeks creating a vocal, beat, demo or musical idea only to decide that it doesn’t fit their sound or current project. Much of that work ends up sitting unused on a hard drive.
Voam gives that music somewhere else to go.
A beat that one producer no longer needs could become the beginning of another artist’s next song. A vocal that was never released could be discovered by someone on the other side of the world. Instead of potentially being forgotten, that work has another opportunity to be used, heard and generate income for the person who made it.
The aim is to make selling that work as easy as possible. Voam automates much of the process, including contracts, artwork and parts of product and file submission, reducing the administrative work required to put music up for sale.
Creators choose what they want to sell and how they want to sell it, including different licensing options such as non-exclusive and exclusive offerings.
A music platform for beginners and professionals
Voam isn’t intended only for professional producers or established artists.
Learning music can be overwhelming. New musicians are quickly introduced to unfamiliar terminology, software, licensing, royalties and production concepts that more experienced artists may take for granted.
Voam includes user-friendly tutorials designed to explain these concepts as simply as possible. More educational content and guides are planned as the platform grows, with the goal of helping new musicians learn, create and become more confident.
Whether someone has been making music for ten years or opened a DAW for the first time last week, Voam wants them to have a place on the platform.
Music should be easier to get into. We need more human artists, not more robots.
More than an empty marketplace
Voam also wants to help the music uploaded to the platform actually get heard.
Products and creators from across Voam will be promoted through its social media ecosystem, giving musicians another potential source of discovery beyond people already browsing the marketplace.
The platform is also developing a Boost feature for eligible products. If offered a Boost, sellers can choose to receive additional promotion without paying an upfront advertising fee. During the Boost period, Voam receives an additional 15 percentage points from qualifying sales in exchange for the increased promotion. Participation is optional.
The idea is that creators shouldn’t simply upload something and be left wondering whether anybody will ever see it.
You make it. Voam will do its best to help people find it.
Building a home for human music
Voam’s launch is only the beginning of what the platform plans to become.
Future ideas include more ways for musicians to collaborate, tools for handling split arrangements, an expanded desktop-style experience and additional features designed around artists working with and supporting other artists.
But the principle behind those features will remain the same.
As AI-generated music becomes an increasingly visible part of the industry, Voam wants to build a dedicated space for music created by people and provide artists with additional ways to be compensated for the time and creativity they put into their work.
Instead of another artist’s work disappearing onto a hard drive, it can become somebody else’s inspiration. Instead of purchasing access to endless generated content, musicians can purchase something created by another person and know their money is directly supporting a fellow artist.
Voam wants to become a home where musicians can buy music, sell music, learn, create, discover artists and support artists.
A place built around real music, made by real people.
Real music. Real people. Let’s support artists.
Voam is out now and available through voam.site and on the Apple App Store
