The Dental Passport is a secure, patient-owned record that travels with the patient rather than staying locked in one office’s software.

Most dental records still live inside the practice management system of whichever office created them. When a patient moves, sees a specialist, or needs a second opinion, the history is requested by fax, re-entered by hand, or simply lost. Implant patients feel this most: the manufacturer, size and placement date of an implant are needed for the rest of the patient’s life, and are the details most often missing when a new dentist takes over care.

The Dental Passport, built by Intake Dental, changes who holds the record. Each Novudentics patient receives their own passport, linked to their chart at the practice. As treatment happens, the passport is kept current with completed procedures, the tooth chart, radiograph history, an implant registry with manufacturer and placement details, health history, medications and allergies, insurance coverage, signed consents, and a care plan. The patient decides which offices can see it and can share it with any dentist, in or out of the network, with a link or a scan.

Patients can also add family members as dependents, request records from previous offices directly from the passport, review a log of every access to their information, and carry the passport in Apple Wallet for check-in at participating practices.
